Fishing safety comes first.
AnglerScout helps with planning and check-ins, but technology never replaces judgement, local knowledge, official warnings or the right safety equipment.
Check official conditions
Confirm weather, wind, swell, tides, lightning, visibility and flood risk with authoritative local services before departure and again at the water.
Share a real plan
Tell a trusted person where you are going, who is with you, your vehicle or vessel details and when to raise the alarm. App check-ins are a supplement, not a substitute.
Carry the right equipment
Use approved flotation devices, communications, lights, first-aid supplies, water, sun protection and clothing appropriate to the water and conditions.
Respect access and water
Do not enter closed, private, protected or unsafe areas. Watch for surf, currents, slippery rocks, unstable banks, wildlife, traffic and rapidly changing water.
Protect your location
Choose exact, approximate or hidden coordinates deliberately. Avoid public live-location sharing when it could create a personal-safety, crowding or conservation risk.
Follow fishing rules
Carry licences and verify seasons, bag and size limits, protected species and tackle restrictions using the current authoritative source for that jurisdiction.
Catch and release
Minimise handling time, wet hands and suitable equipment, support the fish properly and release it only when it can swim strongly. Follow species-specific local guidance and never release an invasive species when prohibited.
About AnglerScout conditions
Displayed weather, marine estimates, tides, moon phases and fishing scores can be incomplete, delayed or wrong. A score indicates how selected conditions compare with general or learned patterns; it is not a percentage chance of catching a fish and is never safe-navigation advice.
