Terms of Use

Fair use of the water and the platform

Terms of Use

The basic rules for using AnglerScout. Effective 18 October 2026.

Important: AnglerScout provides planning information and community features, not professional navigation, emergency, legal or fisheries advice.

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By creating an account or using AnglerScout, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement and comply with the minimum age rules that apply where you live.

2. Accounts

Provide accurate registration information, protect login details and notify us of suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless prohibited by law.

3. Founding access, trials and memberships

Users registering from 18 October through 21 November 2026 receive founding access through 30 November 2026. Registrations from 22 November 2026 receive a 7-day trial. Selected users may receive complimentary access through an administrator-issued invitation. Paid plans are expected to be US$2.99 monthly or US$24.99 yearly, subject to confirmation at checkout, taxes and local currency treatment.

4. Billing and cancellation

Paid memberships renew for the selected period until cancelled. The checkout screen will identify the billing provider, exact price, renewal date and cancellation method. Cancellation stops the next renewal and normally does not create a partial-period refund unless law requires otherwise.

5. User content

You retain ownership of catches, photos, posts and messages you submit. You grant AnglerScout a limited licence to host, process, display and distribute content as needed to operate the service and honour the audience you selected. Only upload material you have the right to use.

6. Spots, coordinates and privacy

Review coordinate visibility before sharing. Exact, approximate and hidden settings reduce accidental exposure but cannot prevent recipients from copying information they can see. Do not publish another person’s sensitive location without permission.

7. Communities and acceptable conduct

Do not harass, threaten, deceive, impersonate, spam, exploit minors, promote illegal activity, post unsuitable material, interfere with the service or use another angler’s private data without authority. Community owners and moderators may remove content or members. AnglerScout may investigate reports and restrict accounts to protect the platform.

8. Safety, forecasts and navigation

Weather, wind, waves, tides, moon phases, map markers and catch scores may be delayed, estimated, incomplete or wrong. Never use AnglerScout as the sole source for navigation or safety decisions. Check official forecasts, tide tables, access rules and emergency advice; use suitable equipment; and tell someone your plan.

9. Regulations and conservation

You are responsible for licences, permissions, protected areas, seasons, species identification, bag limits, size limits and humane handling. Any regulation links in the service are informational and must be checked against the current authoritative source.

10. Third-party services

Maps, weather, marine data, payments, app stores and shared social-media destinations may be provided by third parties under their own terms. AnglerScout is not responsible for third-party availability or independent content.

11. Intellectual property

The AnglerScout name, logo, software, design, original text and non-user databases are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. No ownership transfers to users.

12. Availability, suspension and changes

The service will evolve and may experience downtime. Features may be added, changed or retired. Accounts may be suspended or terminated for serious or repeated breaches, legal requirements, security risks or non-payment.

13. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AnglerScout is provided on an “as available” basis without a guarantee of catches, uninterrupted access, complete map coverage or forecast accuracy. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to [email protected].
